Artist Melinda Piesse specialises in teaching the visual arts including children’s craft, secondary art, craft, ceramics and textiles. She has a Master of Fine Art, Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) and a Diploma of Education awarded by Monash University. Melinda enjoys drawing, painting and creative textile art including embroidery knitting, tapestry weaving, jewellery design, Steiner Doll-making, crochet and needle-felting.

Learn to create your own toys, accessories and clothing at After-school Sewing and Craft. Learn to safely operate a sewing machine, sew, knit and crochet. Have fun, create something to be proud of and learn skills that will last a lifetime.

Classes are held after-school during school term times and include a variety of fun seasonal projects such as knitting, basic machine sewing, embroidery, crochet, felting, patchwork, appliqué, and embellishing with buttons, braids and trim.

Would you like to learn how to make your own fashion clothing, bags, toys or home-wares? Learn how to make fashion to fit and flatter your shape and style. Learn techniques to make every project creative and tailored to your individuality with a professional finish. Wednesday’s from 1.00-3.00pm

Beginner’s Sewing classes teach a variety of different techniques including how to thread and safely operate a sewing machine, how to finish raw edges, sew seams, under-stitch, gather and insert zips. Learn how to read commercial patterns, understand cutting lay-outs, measure and estimate fabric quantities and sew using the best suited sewing construction techniques.
